Abstract

Economic development through economic diversification is influenced by economicstructural transformation. West Java is trying to realize competitive and sustainable development as a province experiencing an economic transition from primary tosecondary and tertiary sectors. This study analyzes the monetary sector's potential and regional financial performance. The method used is quantitative descriptive statistics with panel secondary data from 2019 to 2023. The analysis methods used are Klassen Typology, Location Quotient (LQ), Shift Share, and calculation of regional financial performance. The results showed that the secondary and secondary sectors dominated most developed and potential sectors in West Java, while the primary industry became the lagging sector in West Java. In addition, the districts/cities with the highest per capita GRDP criteria in the quadrants are owned by Bandung City in 1st quadrant (fast developing and growing areas), Bekasi Regency in 2nd quadrant (fast developing but depressed areas), Sukabumi City in 3rd quadrant (rapidly developing areas) and Bogor Regency in 4th quadrant (relatively underdeveloped areas). The analysis of regional financial performance in four districts/cities showed that Sukabumi City had the lowest ratios in terms of the degree of fiscal decentralization, dependency, and independence. Still, the effectiveness and efficiency ratios showed quite good results, while Bandung City obtained the lowest effectiveness and efficiency ratios.
